Engineering Technician IV
Location: Newport, RI
Facility: NUWC facility

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Summary: The Engineering Technician IV will assist and lead the testing of Voyage Management System (VMS) in the BYG-1 and non-tactical environment and will provide SME input on test procedures to government Systems Engineers. Someone with experience with DoD Navigation Systems like Voyage Management System (VMS) and ECDIS-N is highly desired.

Qualifications:
Education: Minimum of a Technical School Diploma required. Advanced submarine technical training (e.g. Navy āAā or āCā School) as a Quartermaster or equivalent Submarine Navigation position can be substituted for the diploma requirement.
Experience: Minimum of 4 years of Submarine Navigation experience required. Experience operating VMS in an underway setting and experience operating and maintaining TACNAV is required.
As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship

Clearance: Secret
Work Environment & Physical Demands: Standard Offices and Electronics Assembly & Testing Labs: Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting. In the Laboratory setting, significant use of small hand and electrical tools that require fine motor skills. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs., occasional twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling and squatting. Some potential exposure to fumes associated with soldering.
